3D X-Rays

Advanced 3D imaging for precise diagnosis and treatment planning.

3D Digital Dental CT Scans

3D Digital Dental CT Scans allow virtual treatment planning for oral surgery, implants, endodontics, and orthodontics — all with low-dose radiation.

We offer 3D Planmeca dental images along with standard:

  • Panoramic X-Rays
  • Cephalometric X-Rays
  • Bitewing X-Rays
3D CT scan rendering of jaw and teeth structure
Multiple CT scan views showing cross-sections of jaw and teeth

3D X-Rays and Dental Implants

3D X-rays are the standard for placing implants. Dr. Carroll will order a 3D X-ray (also known as a CT scan) before an implant is placed. This gives us a complete, three-dimensional view of your jawbone, nerves, and surrounding structures — so we can plan the implant placement with precision.

AI-Assisted Reading

Alongside Dr. Carroll's own read, we use AI tools to help measure the density values in your images and flag subtle changes in the tooth and bone that are easy to miss by eye. It's a second set of eyes that helps us catch things sooner and decide whether an area needs attention now or is just worth watching — the diagnosis and the plan always stay with Dr. Carroll. You can read more about how this works on our digital X-rays page.

Virtual Treatment Planning

3D imaging allows Dr. Carroll to plan your treatment virtually before any procedure begins. This technology is used for:

  • Oral Surgery — precise visualization of tooth roots, nerves, and bone structure
  • Implant Placement — exact positioning planned before the procedure
  • Endodontics — detailed view of root canal anatomy
  • Orthodontics — comprehensive assessment of tooth and jaw alignment

If you have questions about our imaging technology or want to learn more about how 3D X-rays can help with your treatment, give us a call. We're happy to explain the process.
